Eligibility:

Open to all except employees and immediate family members of Barleycorn's. Must be legal residents of the Greater Cincinnati area and 21 years of age or older to participate.

Entry:

No purchase necessary. Enter online through the provided link. Limited to one entry per person. All entries must include the word "Norse" to be considered valid.

By submitting an entry, the entrant gives Barleycorn's and NKU permission to use the submitted name publicly in promotional materials. Barleycorn's and NKU hold the right to trademark and/or use any submitted names in perpetuity, without limitations, for commercial and promotional purposes.

By submitting an entry, the entrant gives Barleycorn's and NKU permission to use their name and image in public promotions.​

Timing:

Nomination Phase:

• Entries must be submitted between 12:00 AM EST on April 25, 2025, and 11:59 PM EST on May 16, 2025.

​

Voting Phase:

• Public Voting of finalist names will begin 12:00 AM EST on May 29, 2025 and end 11:59 PM EST on June 12, 2025.

​

Winning Phase:

The winning name will be announced in June.

 ​

Rules:

​Nomination Phase:​

• All entries must include the word "Norse."

• All entries must be submitted during the Nomination Phase.

• One entry per person. Duplicate entries will not be counted.

​

Voting Phase:

• Barleycorn's and NKU will select 3-5 finalists to move on to the Voting Phase. Finalists are subject to Barleycorn's and NKU's discretion.

• All votes must be submitted during the Voting Phase.

​

Winning Phase:

• The winning name will be announced during the Winning Phase.

• Total votes for each finalist will be used to determine the winner.

• Barleycorn's and NKU have the discretion to choose the winning name.

​

Grand Prize Winner:

• Only one Grand Prize winner will be awarded and announced.

• If only one person nominated the winning name, that person will win the Grand Prize.

• If multiple people separately nominated the winning name, one of those nominators will be selected at random to receive the Grand Prize.

• Being named the Grand Prize winner, along with the public recognition of being the creator of the Barleycorn's and NKU Beer name, does not give the Grand Prize winner any claims of revenues, profits, or likewise money earned using the winning name.

Prizes:

NKU Basketball Tickets:

• The Grand Prize winner will receive two (2) tickets to a 2025-26 NKU basketball game.

• The specific game and seats will be determined and announced at a later date. 

​

Barleycorn's Gift Card:

• The Grand Prize winner will receive one (1) Barleycorn's gift card valued at $100, which will be valid at all Barleycorn's and Barleycorn's Brewhouse locations (Cold Spring, Florence, Lakeside Park, and Wilder).

Public Recognition:

• The Grand Prize winner will be announced publicly as the creator of the Barleycorn's and NKU Beer name.

• Barleycorn's and NKU have full discretion on when, where, and how the Grand Prize winner will be recognized.​​

 

Notification:

Winner will be contacted within two weeks of the contest's conclusion.

• If unreachable after a specified period, and multiple entrants submitted the winning name, and alternate winner will be chosen.

• If unreachable after a specified period, and only one entrant submitted the winning name, the winner will forfeit the NKU Basketball Tickets and Barleycorn's Gift Card. Winner will still receive public recognition for submitting the winning name.

General:

By participating, entrants agree to these rules and the decisions of the organizer. Barleycorn's and NKU reserve the right to modify or terminate the challenge.
